As an entrepreneur you know how important it is to emphasize the uniqueness of your company whenever possible. Only very few consumers are interested in the choice of a generic product or service, after all. We are almost always the option of circling the most striking or memorable’s. There are many ways to make your company unique: a unique pricing system, a unique niche in the market, a product or a service that can not be easily imitated. What’s harder is figuring out how to use the uniqueness of your company to generate useful (and often free) advertising. Advertising rather than advertising, should be the basis of any business owner initial efforts. Sun PR is inherently more credible and persuasive than advertising. It’s also a lot cheaper!

But how do you make your business memorable, and get the kind of advertising, which will result in new business? Here are a dozen simple things you try, good word-of-mouth to create about your company and you can increase your profits:

1 Submit regular press releases to trade publications, the business section of local newspapers, newswires, etc., to the starting or relocating your business, new customers / projects, new hires, promotions, etc. (You will be announcing would be surprised how many people read this Announcements!)

2 Pitch a pre-written feature story on local newspapers (emphasis on the uniqueness of your business model, your unique personal history, your commitment to the local community, or the uniqueness of a particular project). Note, too, pitching story ideas to lifestyle magazines, your ideal customer demographic target.

3 Offer to write a regular column for a local publication that features your professional competence.

4 Development of an “Elevator Speech” and sets in a single sentence, what makes your company unique. Do not be afraid to draw attention to a particular customer or consumer focus; The narrower the focus of your brand, the more powerful it becomes.

5 Send an e-mail quarterly / print newsletters for your customers / potential customers with for effective use of the product or service.

6th A lecture / seminar at your local chamber of commerce or other community groups on issues related to your field. (I recently gave a talk over lunch branding, tied my local chamber, and several great contacts.)

7th Are you not just in trade groups (not to be found in fact the best place to get a new customer active), but also in more general networking organizations such as your Chamber of Commerce, city or county committees, citizens groups, etc., but only if They intend to be an active participant. Also what you can do to get support from your existing social network. Each moves with a person they know and trust and work.

8 Join a professional networking / referral group that meets weekly (like BNI).

9 Use Testimonials / success stories in all of your marketing materials.

10th Purchase a vanity license plate fascinating that alludes to your business.

11th Imagine Administrators potential national organizations: That means people in allied fields who come in regular contact with people who need an architect. The search for a friend in one of these organizations may mean that several references.

12th Troll for listservs, chat groups or other online communities where you offer your services or just to keep on, as one authority may be relevant issues.
